Fall Meeting: Salt Lake City, Utah, Oct. 8-11, 2026
The Crossroads of the West beckons! October is a beautiful time of year to visit Salt Lake City (SLC), and there is much to see and do in the area. Thanks to the efforts of our SLC Alumnus, Lance Neward, an October 8th through 11th DCS Alumni Reunion has been established.
We will be staying at the Radisson/Choice, a very nice facility in downtown SLC, at the special rate of $159/night, including free parking and free WiFi for guests. For those who want to arrive as much as 3 days early or stay 3 days later, the rate will be the same. If desired, $20/day access to the Executive Lounge which includes breakfast and Happy Hour with beer and wine (Yes, alcohol is available in Utah, perhaps contrary to popular opinion.)
For those who choose to arrive early on Thursday, that evening we will be able to hear the Tabernacle Choir rehearse for free. The Tabernacle is in Temple Square, about a block from the hotel, and rehearsal starts at 7:30 pm.
On Friday, potential plans include:
AM – A tour of SLC and trip up to Snowbird Resort (no skiing, of course) for an enclosed tram ride up to the Summit Cafe for lunch on our own. after lunch we’ll return to the hotel
PM- The afternoon will be free to explore Temple Square and, if you wish, the (free) Family History Museum. The FHM is the world’s largest repository of genealogical information, and the staff are very helpful.
Dinner will be on our own at one of the many fine restaurants in the area.
On Saturday, plans include:
AM – Using a rental van (attendees share the cost) Lance will conduct a tour of Salt Lake city. We then will tour up to Winter Olympics Museum near Park City, with time for lunch in Park City. This museum celebrates the Winter Olympics of 2002 and the upcoming games of 2034.
PM – A visit to Sundance Resort.
We will return to the hotel for the group dinner at the hotel.
On Sunday Deparure except for those extending.
If you don’t rent a car, the TRAX light rail ($2.50) from the airport stops in downtown 1/2 a block from the hotel.
